REGIONAL INFORMATION CAMPAIGN

A regional information campaign of the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland Programme to promote the results of cooperation projects on the Polish-Czech border region in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship is currently underway. The event operated by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship is targeted at the public.

The Programme’s Regional Contact Point in Wałbrzych held a series of information meetings for those who wished to learn more about the impact of the Programme funds on daily lives of the border region residents, across different areas of Polish-Czech cooperation, in particular by creating a tourist, cultural and recreational offer for spending free time.

MEETINGS FOR STUDENTS

In the second quarter of the year the Programme’s Regional Contact Point in Wałbrzych organized a series of information meetings with students of Bohemian and European studies at the University of Wrocław, logistics studies at the Angelus Silesius University of Applied Sciences in Wałbrzych and students of the Karkonosze College in Jelenia Góra.

The participants could familiarize themselves with good practices of Polish-Czech cooperation projects and find out how the Programme’s funds contribute to the development and cross-border integration of border areas. Particular attention was paid to projects related to joint activities in the area of educating and upskilling of graduates. Competence and capacity acquired in the course of implementation of projects can be the basis for the competitiveness of graduates in the labour market on both sides of the border.

Discussions with students gave the opportunity to learn inspirational ideas in the field of Polish-Czech cooperation.

JOB FAIRS

During the Spring Job and Education Fair ”IN FUTURE” organized by the Karkonosze College in Jelenia Góra, exhibitors from the Polish-Czech-German border area had the opportunity to present companies and institutions and to encourage young people to connect their future with the region. This event proved very popular and was an excellent opportunity for graduates from the region to get to know the offers, development plans and areas of activity of potential employers.

This year’s edition of the Career Day of the Angelus Silesius University of Applied Sciences in Wałbrzych was held under the slogan “20 ideas for a career”. Due to the event about 200 pupils and students could get to know the local labour market and entities operating in it from many industries. Numerous exhibitors from companies and institutions presented their offers of employment and opportunities for cooperation.

Both fairs, which took place in April this year, were attended by the Programme’s Regional Contact Point in Wałbrzych as an exhibitor. The large interest in the fairs shows that such events are necessary, and young people are thinking seriously about their future in the region.

MEETINGS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

The spring information event cycle was summarized with a meeting with students of the University of the Third Age at the Angelus Silesius University of Applied Sciences in Wałbrzych. Discussions with participants were an extremely valuable experience, primarily in terms of differences in the perception of EU and Polish-Czech cooperation projects by young people and senior citizens. More such meetings are planned in the new academic year.

The activities of the Programme’s Regional Contact Point in Wałbrzych run by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as well as from the Polish state and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship budgets within the Technical Assistance of the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland Programme.
