The conference summarizing the project – 18 November 2014

The conference summarizing the project entitled “Strategy of integrated cooperation on Czech-Polish border”, in which implementation the Lower Silesian Voivodeship self-government participates, was held in Hradec Králové on 18 November 2014. During the conference there were presented the effects of project activities, including in particular the document entitled the Strategy of integrated cooperation on Czech-Polish border.  The cooperation agreement was also signed that will define the further partners cooperation after the completion of the joint project.

Within the project the directional document was prepared entitled the Strategy of integrated cooperation on Czech-Polish border, along with the Action Plan. The Strategy is a synthesis of the analyzes carried out by the partners for the Polish and Czech project area and is one of the measures implementing the partners long-term goal – the creation of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation NOVUM Ltd, as a new dimension of the cross-border cooperation. The Strategy substantive areas are defined, the implementation of which will best fit into the institutional and organizational framework, characteristic for the EGTC. These include 1. Tourism and recreation; 2. Infrastructure and natural environment; 3. Competitiveness and 4. Public Services and partnership. The Strategy Action Plan, in turn, contains a set of specific activities and projects that can contribute to the achievement of the Strategy objectives.

During the conference summarizing the project, a contract was signed among the partners and this contract will define further cooperation between partner institutions after the completion of the joint project. The content of the agreement has been jointly developed by all the partners of the project. The cooperation agreement envisages the establishment and funding of the joint international implementation team that will ensure the coordination and supervision of the implementation of the Strategy and its Action Plan and will provide support for the actions taken by the joint EGTC NOVUM. The EGTC will be registered in Poland and will be subject to Polish law. EGTC will have a legal personality, its organizational structure and its own budget made up from membership fees. The EGTC Secretariat will be located in Jelenia Góra.

The conference was attended by representatives of all project partners and invited guests, among others, Ms. Grażyna Bernatowicz – the Polish Ambassador to the Czech Republic as well as representatives of the ministries competent for the regional development and the international cooperation.

The implementation of the project “Strategy of integrated cooperation on Czech-Polish border” began in January 2012. The project received co-funding under the Poland – Czech Republic Cross – Border Operational Programme 2007-2013. The project is implemented in the partnership of nine players from Poland and the Czech Republic. Next to the Lower Silesia Voivodeship there is the Hradec Králové Region as the Lead Partner and the Liberec Region, the Olomouc Region, the Pardubice Region and Polish and Czech parts of the Neisse and Glacensis Euroregions. The total value of the project amounts to EUR 269 633.03, including EUR 229 188.04 grant from the European Regional Development Fund. The project will run until 31 December 2014.
